Patients' Choice Award

Diabetes

700.000 people suffer from diabetes in Austria.

But only two-thirds are aware of it. Every fifth patient already has significant damage to kidneys, eyes and nerves at the time of diagnosis. Influenced by today’s lifestyle, which is characterized by little exercise and increasing rates of obesity, more and more people suffer from diabetes. It is an illness that you do not feel, so it’s important to have one’s blood sugar levels checked regularly.

Once diabetes is detected, the most important thing is to control the sugar levels properly. Otherwise vascular systems may be damaged in the long term, which can even lead to a heart attack, stroke or retinal diseases which could even lead to blindness. As of April 2015, Executive Daibetes Nurse, Ms. Elisabeth from the Klinikum Wels- Grieskirchen supports the care of diabetes patients in our Office during consultation hours.

The options for medical treatment have changed in recent years, so diabetic patients, managed well, can expect to live long and healthy lives.

  • Blood sugar control
  • Diabetes consultation
  • Drug therapy
  • Treatment of gestational diabetes
  • Insulin therapy
  • Functional insulin therapy
  • Sensor adjustment for continuous measurement of blood sugar
